Unreal Engine - AAA Third Person Shooter Gunplay Mechanics(2021)

This project was my first rodeo, so to speak, with Unreal Engine. The project took about a month to complete, and I learned the basics of Unreal Engine through it. Working on this project gave me a solid understanding of C++ in the context of Unreal Engine, and it was my first introduction to Blueprints


What I learned

I learned the fundamentals of Unreal Engine by working on this project, and it gave me an in-depth understanding of the Unreal Engine production pipeline. Third Person Shooters are my favourite genres, and I wanted my first project with Unreal to be a TPS. I used Data Tables to store weapon information(things like Damage and Recoil), and learned to effectively use Unreal's animation and particle systems, 1D and 2D Blendspaces and Inverse Kinematics, as well as implement Turn-In-Place animations and Aim Offsets.
